- Educating myself and others on the Afghanistan Crisis.
- Literally sweating in these new boxy tees I got, but at least I’m comfortable ????♀️

Diving Deep: Something you didn’t know about Stone-Made Paper– why it exists and how it works.
You may have heard that the magazine, book, and physical media industry is dying, but that doesn’t mean paper is. Australian brand Karst is looking to change the way we view paper and wants to innovate the industry for the better.
Today, the paper industry is the thirst-largest polluter in the US, using over 40% of the globally traded industrial wood.
Karst is making 100% tree-free paper. How? By mixing calcium carbonate (a natural material found in ground up stone) and a touch of high quality, non-toxic, non-virgin resin. They slowly apply heat and pressure, before pressing the materials through rollers, and then (TADA!) water-proof paper.
Karst stones are mined from the leftovers of construction sites and waste dumps and do not need chlorine or acid or trees. Stone paper has a 67% smaller carbon footprint than wood-paper, and each metric ton of stone paper only requires 27 gallons of water which will continuously be reused and recycled.
In 2019, Karst estimates that they saved 540 timber trees, 21,953 gallons of water, and 56,218 pounds of carbon dioxide from being emitted.
